Experience Assisted Stretch
Stretchly uses a technique called: Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF) to maximize results and provide a stretch that is difficult for individuals to do alone.
PNF stretching was developed by Dr. Herman Kabat in the 1940s as a means to treat neuromuscular conditions including polio and multiple sclerosis. PNF techniques have since gained popularity with physical therapists and other fitness professionals.
PNF increases range of motion by increasing the length of the muscle and increasing neuromuscular efficiency. PNF stretching has been found to increase ROM in trained, as well as untrained, individuals.
Your dedicated FLEXpert will guide you through a series of stretches customized to your needs and focused on total-body mobility.
You are 100% in control of the process, providing consistent feedback to the FLEXpert with regards to the comfort & depth of the stretch. The goal is to let us do the work while you relax and further connect with your body.
You will leave with a feeling of greater movement along with a refreshed energy that is uniquely different from a massage or physical therapy session.
Let's agree that MOST people do not stretch as often as they should. Stretchly exists to provide a safe, comfortable experience for customers, but also to give people a place to incorporate stretch into their life routine. Most of our customers spend 1 hour with us weekly but others elect to come more often. Depending on the goals & individual, your FLEXpert might also assign some homework so that your sessions in-studio are the most productive possible.
If you don't make stretching a regular activity, then you will never attain the true benefit PNF can offer. A stretch routine fundamentally increases your flexibility and decreases your risk of injury. It also decreases muscle soreness and aids in post-fitness recovery.
Increased Range of Motion means that you can accomplish more movement with less effort, but more importantly, you can move in the way necessary to live your life to the fullest.
